Mountain Climbing
6 Days (5 Nights)
1 One

This expertly crafted 6 days Mount Meru trekking adventure by NK Safaris Arusha Tanzania is designed for travelers seeking an authentic mountain experience combined with excellent acclimatization, breathtaking scenery, and rich wildlife encounters. Mount Meru, standing at 4,566 meters, is Tanzania’s second highest mountain and is often regarded as one of Africa’s most beautiful trekking peaks. Unlike Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru offers a quieter and more intimate trekking experience, making it ideal for adventure travelers, photographers, and nature lovers.
Mount Meru is located within Arusha National Park, a unique setting where trekking routes pass through grasslands, montane forests, and alpine zones while sharing the landscape with wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, colobus monkeys, and a wide variety of bird species. The trek is conducted with an armed park ranger, ensuring safety while offering a rare opportunity to experience wildlife on foot. This makes Mount Meru one of the few mountains in Africa where trekking and safari experiences seamlessly combine.
The itinerary is structured to allow proper acclimatization, with overnight stays at Miriakamba Hut and Saddle Hut, strategically positioned to prepare trekkers for a successful summit attempt. The summit day rewards climbers with panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, and the vast plains of Arusha National Park below. The dramatic crater rim, ash cone, and rugged volcanic landscapes make the summit of Mount Meru a truly unforgettable achievement.
This trek is ideal as a standalone trekking adventure or as a pre acclimatization climb before Mount Kilimanjaro, offering excellent altitude adaptation in a shorter timeframe. With professional mountain guides, quality equipment support, and strong safety standards, NK Safaris ensures a memorable and well organized trekking experience from start to finish.
